[Dear_Trent_#_40]
Dear Trent,
I know we can be a bunch of snide motherfuckers around here, but I just wanted to let you know that the bottom line, no matter how much we carry on, is that we love and admire you.
We're so sorry to hear that your grandfather died, and I know I speak for all of us when I send my most heartfelt sympathy. It has to be hard to be so far away, and lose someone important to you.
We're thinking of you and wishing you well, as always.
Love,
Dierdre

Amen, Dierdre. My sincere condolences to Trent, should he happen to check in now and again.

WOW! Some stupid people are posting really nasty things to Trent on the Spiral. Just a little while ago some people were like "ha ha Trent good april fool's joke you suck" I mean Trent would never joke about death like that, I think that's just cruel.

People suck. Especially to make heartless comments about Trents' loss. But I feel so loved by WTC. After all, I am a "dear reader". Yay!

Whadda buncha dumbfucks. And it's not like the man's obituary isn't posted RIGHT ON the front page of Mercers' newspaper...

It's sad to see how fucking shallow some people really are, to think that Trent would joke about something like the death of his grandfather? Some people are just cold and mean.
My condolences and my deepest sympathy to Trent, hope he is holding up ok.

It's ridiculous to think that Trent would stoop so low as to make a "prank" out of his own grandfathers death. Judging how his grandmother's death took a huge toll on him, he would never sink to that level of cruelty! To me, the people that are making a joke of this are really putting his charcter and integrity down.
My sincere condolences and prayers go out to Trent and his family.

My condolences to the T-Man. Losing your grandparents sucks no matter which way you cut it.
I'd also like to give congratulations to myself, for being awesome.

Oh no! That's terrible! Poor Trent...sincerest condolences to him...
As for people thinking he's pulling ajoke about, humanity is stupid, do we really expect any less from them?
Posted by: KittyKins | Apr 3, 2007 7:32:47 AM
i really hope everything goes well for him through this.. let's hope he turns to the things that look bright to him,.. to find light in all this. he has my best wishes, and the support of seas of people worldwide who believe in the things he stands for.

Gabriel, be careful.
It's common knowledge that Trent's faith in God has always been in question, no more so than when his Grandmother passed. Now that his Grandfather has passed, and with the whole God 2.0 thing, you're really in for it.
Watch your back.

That's a fucking insult, people honestly thought it was an April Fools joke?
Christ.
What utter cunts.

Bottom line? Losing a loved one sucks and it hurts. Despite all the "Boo!" goth/techno/bondage theatrics we have all grown accustomed to enjoying from him, Trent is just a dude. I lost my Grandfather a year and a half ago and it hurt. I imagine he feels it just as sharply as I did.
I also congratulate Gabriel on his on-going awesomeness.
Opeth's Ghost Reveries in 5.1 is pure joy.

Trent has my sympathies. Losing a loved one is always hard-I can't imagine what it would be like for then part of your moronic fanbase to think it was a joke.

I would argue that those posting that stuff aren't fans.
NIN music is, by and large, very personal - or at least based on everday emotions. Most real fans connect to it via that emotion... that's why his music can be so powerful to certain people.
The rest of the people who are "fans" are mean-spirited idiots who like Closer because of the lyric "I wanna fuck you like an animal" vs. digging deeper for more of a message...

And the worst part is that the same stupid motherfucking cunts on ETS are the same ones posting all that shit. I'm still up and ready for an assault on ETS, Dierdre and Maise.
Posted by: Hannah | Apr 3, 2007 5:27:42 PM
You're not all bad, Angleman, but I think you are looking at Gabriel through rose-coloured luv-glasses.
And, Hannah? No one's assualting a fucking thing with your help; not even ETS.

Trent's blog from the Sprial as of this morning:
04/04/07 : YEAR ZERO INFO
There is only one version of YEAR ZERO. There is no deluxe version - every version has the same package (which is cool). You should not be paying more for a deluxe digi-pak version because there is only one version - which IS a digi-pak.
Current Mood: Confused
Posted by: Rebecca | Apr 4, 2007 7:23:56 AM
I really, really need Trent to up the ante on his "current mood."
For today, he could also have used "perplexed," "befuddled," "flabbergasted," or, my favorite, "nonplussed."
Posted by: maise | Apr 4, 2007 8:02:09 AM
Whenever I visit this site I actually put on a real pair of rose-colored luv-glasses.
Posted by: Angelman | Apr 4, 2007 11:04:36 AM
I actually sold them to Angelman. They too can be yours, for only $49.99.
They also reveal the hidden subliminal sexual messages in the background images. NAUGHTY NAUGHTY!!!
Posted by: Gabriel | Apr 4, 2007 11:24:04 AM
Er, sorry to completely abandon the topic, but Year Zero is on nin.com in its entirety and I thought I might as well mention it.
hyperpower! kicks way more ass than I thought it would. It's like Pilgrimage, but even better.
Posted by: Sarcelle | Apr 4, 2007 11:29:50 AM
Pilgrimage by R.E.M.? I love that song.
Posted by: JR | Apr 4, 2007 11:38:57 AM
I really wish he hadn't abandoned the idea of hyperpower! as a duet with Fergie. I guess it's fine the way it is, though.

Is anybody else wondering WHAT THE COCK is up with the extended xylophone intro on "the greater good"?
I mean, does an Etch-A-Sketch feature prominently on another track?
Posted by: Gabriel | Apr 4, 2007 11:53:03 AM
Listen to you guys...so cool, so calm...WHILE I AM FREAKING THE FUCK OUT RIGHT NOW!!!! Because there is a new NINE INCH FUCKING NAILS ALBUM, AND I AM LISTENING TO IT! RIGHT NOW!!!
Goddamn...
