[The_Hills_Are_Alive]

Fortunately, dear readers, when I am lazy and disorganized, our Iris often comes to the rescue!

Timelessmusicalclassic

Iris's Favorite Things

Silly grown man-boys all covered in cornstarch
Trent sings that one song where he wants us to "MARCH!"
Mic stands, and band mates, and bottles he flings
These are a few of my favorite nin things

Bright fields of poppies and fires full of ashes
Trent gets real pissed off and the guitars, he smashes
Huge LED screens held up by some strings
These are a few of my favorite nin things

Album commercials with blood drops in water
Trent rolling on stage like he's some fucking martyr
Of the pain and rejection and loathing he sings
These are a few of my favorite nin things

When my day sucks
When the boss rings
When I'm steaming mad
I simply remember my favorite nin things
And then I don't feel so bad

I dream of that Rock God and songs that he's written
For Mister Reznor, I'm hopelessly smitten
Pictures of decay and rotten moth wings
These are a few of my favorite nin things

Friends who convince me that Vienna's not too far
Come on you guys, you fucking all know who you are
WearingTheseChains and all the love/hate it brings
These are a few of my favorite nin things

Backpacking through Europe, oh the shows that we'll see
I wonder if he'll meet with M, D, G, & me?
All joking aside, all the shit that we sling
Nine Inch Nails is really the best fucking thing!

Um, why isn't anyone commenting on the BRILLIANCE of Iris's post?

Bravo, girl.

Trent, I hope you see Iris's GENIUS POST, and I hope that it makes you feel better, all those mean people on ETS, making fun of your song titles!

The Mars Volta has a video with lemurs. I dont even like them but the video kills.

Posted by: Hannah | Feb 12, 2007 2:52:58 PM

I'm detecting massive levels of win in this sector.
Bravo!

i'm with maise...you know that saying don't judge a book by its cover..well that kind of explains with trent's choice of unique song titles....??
am i making any sense? i mean sure they(song titles) may sound funny to us now but who knows, "Hyperpower" may be another awesome song..
oh fuck it!! no one cares..
nevermind.......

Well thanks for the props JR and Maise. And thanks(?) Rainbowvomit, I think.

You all know me, I'm always happy go lucky but that shit is about to end. I'm about to weigh in myself on what I believe is the motivation to Trent's new track list. And all you fuckers better listen up because this is good. Stay tuned...

Allow me to translate: Win is a good thing. I make no claims to knowledge of the poster's intended sarcasm or lack thereof.

Oh, and Iris? To quote our beloved MIA Dierdre, BRING IT.

Posted by: emerald527 | Feb 12, 2007 6:08:10 PM

Iris, your song rocks...ah, well it doesn't exactly rock, singing nuns and all, but you know what I mean. Your version rocks.

Posted by: Chrise | Feb 12, 2007 8:15:02 PM

Okay, I gotta admit, I'm really fucking impressed so far, Trent.

Posted by: maise | Feb 12, 2007 8:56:28 PM

Oh, and by the way, if you're like me, and have no idea what the fuck is going on in the ninternet with Trent's little online dystopia, here
is a good place to start.

Posted by: maise | Feb 12, 2007 9:01:22 PM

Oh, where is everybody? Year Zero and all its 20 gazillion websites are giving me the biggest fucking headache.

Posted by: maise | Feb 12, 2007 9:25:28 PM

I haven't read all the boards. The thought of slogging though 30+ pages at ETS, well you know how that can be. Good viral marketing concept. I'm sure this will keep the CD in everyone's mind until release. I like the mysterious web-pages and how the tour shirts spell out I Am Trying To Believe.

Posted by: Chrise | Feb 12, 2007 10:14:25 PM

MARVELOUS!!!! :) made my day.

Posted by: giftedsbytch | Feb 13, 2007 5:24:24 AM

So Trent must use his hyper-power when he's the Kool-Aid man? Stir away, Trent. Stir away.

Posted by: Hannah | Feb 13, 2007 7:30:52 AM

Joking aside, does anyone else think that Year Zero could scare the piss out of some people and maybe cause a national security issue. It sounds probable.

Posted by: Hannah | Feb 13, 2007 7:48:13 AM

-bangs head on desk- ooohhh Goooooooooooood why with all the link chasing first thing in the morning?? -whimpers-

Posted by: KittyKins | Feb 13, 2007 8:05:38 AM

Okay, here's where I must protest. This mumbling rejected castmember of V for Vendetta launches his attack on Wrigley Field. Like the Cubs don't have enough fucking problems? You know what's going to happen in 2024? Yours truly will just be sitting down in her seat between home plate and first base with a properly made hot dog, and then all hell will break loose. Thanks a lot, Trent. Stupid resistance fighters. I wonder if Parepin keeps you thin?

Posted by: maise | Feb 13, 2007 8:54:28 AM

Dude, I know it's not real and it's scaring the bejesus out of me because I think it's entirely probable that the Government will pull some scary shit like this some day and then all this hell will break loose.

Posted by: KittyKins | Feb 13, 2007 9:18:44 AM

This is also really helpful in terms of keeping all the currently known clues straight.

Posted by: maise | Feb 13, 2007 9:19:34 AM

I think we've established two things:

1) Trent is a fucking genius.

2) Iris is a fucking genius.

Posted by: BeatiesGirl | Feb 13, 2007 10:13:56 AM

Maise, thank you for that link. You really are the greatest cyberdog ever. Something tells me that the 'best potluck dinners in Plano' are still not worth the trip, mentally or physically. This playing-with-truth business is all very scary, and feels real on many levels. I'm haunted by the HIS lyric, "The devils of truth steal the souls of the free".

Posted by: flyrabbit | Feb 13, 2007 10:18:44 AM

Well, I have been sent on business trips to Plano, IL. No potluck dinners for me, but I wouldn't stick around for them.

Posted by: maise | Feb 13, 2007 10:45:50 AM

((((applauds))))

Posted by: Prism | Feb 13, 2007 11:11:11 AM

Maybe the government is watching Trent already?

Posted by: Hannah | Feb 13, 2007 11:56:26 AM

Damn, this is awesome. The whole network of sites has eliminated any doubts the tracklist caused me: This is going to be brilliant!
