[Pictures_of_You_#_20: Hard_Evidence]
Well, it looks like there's proof of what Dierdre's been trying to say all along, and we can put all speculation on the subject to bed:
Trent Reznor really is "smokin' hot."

Good to finally have confirmation on that, isn't it?

Oh, if that first picture fell into the wrong hands...

Eeeeek, Ticketmaster tells me that the Dresden Dolls are coming to my town! :D
Posted by: maise | Mar 17, 2006 6:42:49 AM
Well, that will definitely shut up the skeptics;-))
Posted by: Alana | Mar 17, 2006 6:50:48 AM
Whatever, man. They are coming to MY TOWN, too, and THAT'S a stretch. I am SO THERE.
Posted by: Dierdre | Mar 17, 2006 7:02:47 AM
did I mention (while we are talking about non nin shows) that I'm going to l.a. next month to see nearLY?
yes, that's with a capitial "LY"!
i have to remember to ask why the "LY"!
i enjoyed Saul Tuesday night. haven't seen the dresden dolls yet.
and on topic, yes, trent looks hot.
:)
Posted by: bex | Mar 17, 2006 10:07:06 AM
Uh, no offense, Bex, but I think the topic is that he is ACTUALLY SMOKING.
We're going to need a full report on that "LY".

Ladies, I sound like a complete dumbass in the first few video clips I got of the show last night. Mom said I sounded akin to the teenieboppers of the Beatles' age. And unfortunately, every time I screamed, I had to cough too. Haha. Fuck allergies. :(
Posted by: Kim | Mar 17, 2006 11:44:26 AM
Yeah, that too (Trent actually "smoking").
:)
Must be strange walking around with smoking actually coming off of you!
:)
Posted by: bex | Mar 17, 2006 11:48:46 AM
Kim, how was the show??? I take it you enjoyed yourself? Can we see you in that picture of Aaron that they put up in Current?
Oh, I didn't mention this before, but "smoking" Trent looks really eerie.
Posted by: maise | Mar 17, 2006 11:56:32 AM
It almost (and I say ALMOST) makes him look angelic. Hahahahaha.
Posted by: Alana | Mar 17, 2006 12:41:37 PM
I knew it all along. It's about time the world started listening!
(P.S. I was at the House of Blues show in AC last Saturday, front and center in the pit. Therefore I must state for the record that being so close to the man pictured above for the first time was truly a religious experience...Take that, non-believers!)

All you bitches who have been to recent shows need to make FULL REPORTS. Please remember that I am IN PARIS!
Posted by: Dierdre | Mar 17, 2006 3:36:23 PM
I agree, glitterella. I got to touch Trent last week at the show in Amherst, MA when he came into the crowd for "Piggy" ( i almost got crushed in the pit but it was worth it!). He's as gorgeous in person as he is in the photos, but just a lil' shorter than I expected.
Posted by: Kimberly | Mar 17, 2006 3:57:10 PM
Actually, Maise, you CAN see me, haha. I'm not in the pit, but in the seats. About an inch to the left from Aaron's wrist. The light blue/grey blob. LOL

Pics and Clips that I got. Enjoy!
BTW. Show was fucking GREAT. In the first two clips you can hear me screaming my head off. Mom compared me to a Beatles teeniebopper. Don't know whether to laugh or be mad about that, LMAO.
The (almost) exact words of Trunk last night:
"Alright, I've gotta say that I've had some pretty good days. Been working on new music and stuff. Working with Saul, making great stuff. Kickass audience. In fact, I think I've seen most of the front row for the past 10 shows. It blows me away, the dedication... Are any of you heading down to Miami? We get to play with a lot of other shitty bands. Did you just say Rob Zombie sucks? Yes, you did. Okay... ... ... that's the cue to start..."
Saul stopped playing after five songs... after List Of Demands, that was it. The crowd wasn't giving him hardly any response... I loved him, myself. But at least the crowd had the decency not to boo at him. I think part of the reason Trent mentioned him was because of that lack of response, that and a "spy" or two may have heard some of the crowd complaining to each other. The drunkass woman sitting next to me kept telling me that "this is horrible. good god, I wish he'd stop already" blah blah.
Oh, and further proof my mom is a pervert:
She mentioned to me on the way home that Trent had a semi hard-on after he got back on stage near the end of Piggy. She had the binoculars trained on his crotch. Said it was pointing to the right. YEP.
Posted by: Kim | Mar 17, 2006 8:39:52 PM
Let me make that into a link...
Posted by: Kim | Mar 17, 2006 8:40:56 PM
Whaaaa? Trent did a drive-by insult of Rob Zombie?! I have heard nothing but good things about Rob's personality from people who have met him. Plus, thanks to my husband, I have to listen to a *lot* of shitty hard rock, and I can tell you that Rob Zombie is, without a doubt, a cut above. He really knows how to write a catchy tune.
That does it. I *am* writing that guest contribution I've been pondering...
Posted by: maise | Mar 18, 2006 12:01:26 AM
lol... someone in the pit yelled that Rob Zombie sucks. Don't know why. heh.
Also-
Trent did some sexy moves during random songs. Hawt stuff. Love him.
There was plenty of CLAP YER HANDS!!! stuff to go around, and plenty of crowd participation in songs... as in someone gettin a hold of the mic and drunkenly/overexcitedly singing the song for Trent. Plenty of beer getting tossed around. My little picture booklet thing got soaked the first few pages through with beer from some idiot next to us.
Unfortunately, even though I had seats, I wasn't able to see, because everyone in my section decided that seats weren't for sitting. My right ankle was bum, so I couldn't stand for more than one song before I'd have to sit for about half a song to recover. Which is why I have so many video clips and the set list written down! I decided to make myself useful and use my long arm to film over the peoples' heads, and the notepad and pen that Mom had to write down the songs.
No TDTWWA, but thank god he played Hurt.

Congratulations, Kim. I'm so happy for you that you finally got to go. Excuse me while I go cry my eyes out.

I'm sorry to hear Saul isn't getting much response at some of the shows (but no reports of booing, which is somewhat unusual for an opening act) — the audience was actually very into him in Knoxville. The entire crowd there was amazing the whole night, but I couldn't help but be impressed with how they responded to Saul. Lots of clapping, cheering, singing along when they could pick up the words, etc.
Personally, I enjoy his live performances more than his recordings... but he is extremely talented, no doubt about that.
Dierdre, so you really are in Paris? I assumed that was part of the joke. :D
Posted by: C | Mar 18, 2006 7:10:37 AM
Close enough, C. The bottom line is that I am too far from home to go to any of these shows, and even if I'm Dierdre, and not currently dying of love for Trent Reznor in a garret in Paris, I am still living vicariously through all of you who do get to go, so please: FULL REPORTS.
Also true: I really did see Saul Williams open for Trent in London at the Brixton Academy, and I thought he was fucking awesome. I love his self-titled latest record, too. I'm really surprised at how little response there is the news that they are working together... because it really thrills me.
Posted by: Dierdre | Mar 18, 2006 7:19:47 AM
Speaking of Saul Williams, I finally sat my ass down and watched his Voodoo Fest collaboration with NIN last night. (Yeah, yeah, I know. I've been busy, okay?) Seeing that only serves to further convince me that Trent's involvement in Saul's next record will be an awesome, awesome thing.
And no one told me Trent was singing not just backup but FALSETTO during "African Student Movement." I am slayed.
And Kim, I am so glad you finally got to go. Just one question, though: Was that picture book thingie worth it? I neglected to hit the merch booths at the Toledo show because I'd forgotten about it. Should I pick one up if they're offered during the summer tour?

Well, I can't remember how much it costs right now, but it basically has all the pictures Rob took and put up on The Spiral in it. There are some pretty good, detailed, beautiful pictures, and the book is about 9x6. I wouldn't say it's very sturdy though... it's a little less than 1/3 an inch thick, and not made of really sturdy paper. It flops around, haha. I'm trying to think of what to compare the paper to... it's about like normal poster paper, I guess. The cover, of course, is a little thicker. About 40 pages, and about 80 pictures or so.
And if you get one, you better make sure you keep it tied up in a bag, because getting it wet will warp it pretty bad. Damn lady spilling her fuckin beer on mine... grr. Thankfully it didn't get ALL OVER it, just the front cover and first few pages.

Kimberly, you are so lucky! We didn't get Piggy at the AC show...But if we did I was totally in touching range! Better luck next time I suppose...
Oh, and if anyone's interested, I've got a Photobucket album of crappy disposable camera pics, which can be perused here
