This just in from tonight's NIN Spiral chat:
1. Trent has a new pet! He has adopted a retired racing greyhound (Awwww).
2. Trent claims that he always has fishnets on under the sparklepants, and says he's not on the verge of ditching the eyeliner.
3. Trent's favorite lovesong: "Save The Best For Last" by Vanessa Williams. "Gets me every time," quoth he.
4. Sorry, perverts, but the notorious and truly grody "Broken" movie will never be offered for sale. Your best option, according to Trent? "Just download the fucker."
5. What "space" is Trent in, writing his new record? "Angry and fed up."
(Thanks, good Spiral buddy.)

Wow, Dierdre. And I thought the chat itself was lame.
Nice, um, "work". Great added insight. Really, um....
Yeah.

Oh that poor dog...better give it doggie prozac now so it doesn't succumb to the same emotional fate as its predecessors. Or is Trent making a coat? "See my vest, see my vest..."

Let's not forget, Jeordie said he'd say hi to Sully for me!
Can someone please take me to them so I can hit them all over the head with something? Please?
Also, I feel the need to clarify that Trent said he'd wear the eyeliner "just for" Pragmatica.
My reaction:
shylonermisfit (8:19:27 PM): Did he just flirt?
Posted by: Kim | Feb 10, 2006 6:08:46 PM
"Angry and fed up"? Again?
Posted by: Jane | Feb 10, 2006 6:12:15 PM
Gabriel, you can shove it up your ass. If you have some insights, by all means, share them. If not, get back to jacking off to pictures of scary goth mutant number 4, why don't you.

2. Trent claims that he always has fishnets on under the sparklepants, and says he's not on the verge of ditching the eyeliner.
I thought he was joking on that one, myself.
"Angry and fed up"? Again?
Exactly, Jane. My knee-jerk reaction was, "And when are you NOT?"
Posted by: Rachel | Feb 10, 2006 6:29:38 PM
I don't believe him about the fishnets either.

Hey, first time poster here- is there anywhere I can read a transcript of the chat? Do I have to belong to The Spiral? Or is it simply gone into the vacuum of the internet?

Heh, heh, I've got some good shit for you guys. Stay tuned...
Posted by: maise | Feb 11, 2006 12:24:34 PM
Haha! It was me that asked the favorite love song question...I think his answer will amuse me eternally.
Been lurking here for quite some time now...I figured I'd finally say hello...

Can I just say that I love "Save the Best for Last"? When it first came out, I had this excruciating Duckie Dale-esque crush on this guy (which lasted *years*), and I always hoped he'd finally notice The Girl Who Had Been There for Him All Along, and that song just captured that experience really well. I sang along with it every time I heard it, and if I ever hear it now, I still sing along with it, even though by the time that guy noticed The Girl Who Had Been There for Him All Along, I was totally over his dumb ass.
All right, off to a party...
Posted by: maise | Feb 11, 2006 3:21:25 PM
maise, it sounds like your experience was more of a "Send in the Clowns" type thing. :)
I hate Vanessa Williams. Her suckitude is radio-fucking-active. Even typing her name makes my hair fall out.
glitterella, Welcome!, although I hope you have the chops to live up to that name. There just might not be room for two glitter girls on WTC.
Just sayin'

you bitches suck. is there even one teste among you? Fuck.
Posted by: Logia | Feb 11, 2006 5:49:23 PM
Logia, meet Dom. Dom, Logia.
Posted by: maise | Feb 11, 2006 10:39:19 PM
Yeah, that was really convincing, "Logia".
Almost has convincing as Aaron North's bullshit "Nine Inch Nails is all about punk rock" bit on the chat.
Posted by: Gabriel | Feb 11, 2006 11:53:17 PM
GOD. I was hoping to forget he said that, Gabe. Punk rock? Nine Inch Nails? Same sentence? What the fudgemonkeys.
Posted by: Kim | Feb 11, 2006 11:59:03 PM
As the Pastor himself said Kim, "don't get me started on this".
Or on the ludicrousness of MTR ragging on current musicians being lame because they're all about trying to be popular, while in the exact same chat Trent admits that playing the NIN Greatest Hits portion of the set is a fucking -- to use his word -- "obligation".
Well at least he added "Mr. Self Destruct" to the setlist. Wooooo... that's an exciting one sure to enhance the shows. *yawn*
Posted by: Gabriel | Feb 12, 2006 12:09:47 AM
Oh Gabriel, don't be an ass. Not everyone has seen NIN live 10,000 times. Trent's not trying to be popular with the general Kelly Clarkson-listening populace. He's trying to throw a bone to his fans, most of whom haven't seen him in five years or more, if at all.
Posted by: maise | Feb 12, 2006 12:16:35 AM
No Police covers, though, which is a damn shame.

Since it's four in the morning, and I should have my ass in bed but instead am working on a portfolio, I need feedback!
http://moony.raining-flames.net/portfolio
None of the pictures are showing up because I haven't made the thumbnails yet, but yeah. When that's finished with, the entire site (just about) will be finished. I'll just have to make little individual, yet almost identical, html pages with all the full size works on there and blahblah. I hate HTML/CSS.
Posted by: Kim | Feb 12, 2006 1:20:04 AM
Damnit.
Posted by: Kim | Feb 12, 2006 1:20:38 AM
Thanks for the welcome Baal! Now that I'm slowly creeping out of hiding, it's nice to actually be a part of what goes on around here, rather than just reading and giggling.
Like I said I've been reading WTC for ages now, but I didn't do the math when trying to figure out what name to post under...Hopefully I'll be "choppy" enough and we can co-exist in harmony!
Posted by: glitterella | Feb 12, 2006 2:35:37 AM
Um, and "throwing a bone" isn't lame?
If he's all behind playing "Head Like A Hole" every night, and really wants to, from an artistic and performance standpoint, then by all means, he should go ahead. But he doesn't; he's doing it to maintain his core popularity, and his lack of enthusiasm with his "hits" shows.
I really don't think it's cool for him to -- in a certain sense -- condescend to his audience by playing the songs the crazy WOOHOO screaming monkey fans want to hear. If he wasn't being lame, he'd be playing what HE wanted to play, and providing a more powerful experience thereof.
But if you want to go see him really rock out -- and by "rock out" I mean give a full 100% in trying to convince you that he wants to be playing half those songs anymore -- I'm sure you'll be pleased.
Posted by: Gabriel | Feb 12, 2006 7:34:43 AM
Gabriel, I think that Trent playing his hits at shows has nothing to do with him, or at least very little. I payed close to 50 damn dollars to see them perform, and songs that I want to hear had better be played. If he's just giving 50% on those WOOHOO songs, then yeah, that's lame, fuck you. But as a Nine Inch Nails fan who shelled out my own hard earned money to see them perform, I want to see 110% given to playing those standards, along with the newer and bolder stuff.
Be true to your art, by all means, but be true to your supporters as well. There is a certain understanding about what is going to be heard at a show.

And, seriously, I wasn't kidding, does anyone know where I can look at a transcript of the chat?
