[Christmas_In_Chains]

It's Christmas, and you know what, guys? I love you all, almost as much as I love Trent! But, let's keep it real: not quite that much.

I'm in Los Angeles, and even though Gabriel totally sucks, I'm super happy to see old friends again. Of course, nothing's perfect. I can't help wishing that after I hang up my pretty stockings and turn out the lights, Trent would be comin' down my chimney tonight, instead of Santa Claus (or Elvis), because I do think he'd make an awfully fetching (read: totally hott!) gothemo Santa...

Ho_ho_ho

...but I guess a girl can't get everything she wants.

Trent honey, I hope all your Christmas wishes come true. You deserve it. Nice work this year. Drop me a line if you wanna get a coffee or something while I'm in town, ok baby? But, don't worry, I understand if you're too busy. I'm busy, too.

Wearing These Chains is taking a day or two off in observance of the holiday, but we all wish you a very Merry Christmas (or whatever it is the rest of you heathens celebrate), and a New Year full of all the best good things.

Love,
Dierdre

Merry Christmas to you too, love.

Glad to hear your in the states again.

I love that photoshop so much.

Santa Trent. I'd love to sit on his lap.

Man, if Santa looked like that, I'd still be putting out cookies.

All the same, I didn't do too badly this year. And now for some much-needed REST!

Trent sure is short.

Posted by: Jane | Dec 26, 2005 11:28:13 PM

...but his shoes are really, really cute.

Posted by: Jane | Dec 26, 2005 11:28:52 PM

What, is everyone posting here like 5'11"?

Posted by: maise | Dec 27, 2005 7:28:06 AM

I'm 5'10". >.>

Posted by: Kim | Dec 27, 2005 8:06:08 AM

5'5". But 5"9" with ma shit kickin' boots on.

Posted by: Iris | Dec 27, 2005 10:09:47 AM

If anyone on earth makes it clear that size doesn't matter, it's Trent.

We've been over this...it's not like he's Michael J. Fox or something.

Posted by: maise | Dec 27, 2005 2:04:42 PM

How tall is Michael J. Fox?

Posted by: Jane | Dec 27, 2005 2:18:46 PM

I think he's like 5'4". But moving past the short vs. not short issue. Does anyone have any cool plans for New Year's? I was going to go live it up this year since I will have two days to recover this year, but now I can’t. I’m getting stuck with KIDS! A family member won a trip to somewhere warmer than here for the weekend and I get to watch their children while they go have a good time. Grumble, grumble, gripe, gripe. This is why I don’t have or want children of my own! Hope someone else is going to have a better time than I am.

Eh, New Year's will most likely be pretty tame this year. We're going to the home of friends who usually never stay out past 9 p.m. In fact, I'm kind of shocked they're throwing a New Years' bash.

Posted by: maise | Dec 27, 2005 3:39:26 PM

New Years Plans... hmm. Since Mom suggested she could cut and dye my hair just as well as any salon lady, I have decided I'll just not get my hair cut. Last time Mom gave me highlights, they were blonde instead of the dark red I wanted. And before that, they were some metallic purple color that you could barely see inside, but blinded you when I would step into the sun.

Hey Iris,

With any luck, your relatives will spend their entire weekend at timeshare presentations. ;)

Posted by: maise | Dec 27, 2005 8:53:13 PM

One can only hope, but somehow I don't think it will end up that way. I suppose this is payback for all the times I make them check on my cats when I travel out of town. But it just doesn't add up to be the same. I mean with the cats you only have to check once a day for food, water, a place to shit, maybe look to see if their toy mouse got stuck under the fridge. With kids you have to like...interact with them! Haha. I suppose I'll just rent some video games and plop them in front of the TV.

My God, Kim. You are just a ray of fucking sunshine these days, aren't you?

Posted by: Jane | Dec 28, 2005 12:56:34 PM

Yep, sure am. Got my hair cut and dyed anyway.

Tada.

Posted by: Kim | Dec 28, 2005 7:15:56 PM

Cute haircut, Kim!

Okay, so my thrilling options for tonight are a) wasting time on the Internet or b) cleaning up my FILTHY apartment.

Everyone, please do your part to help me accomplish option (a).

Posted by: maise | Dec 28, 2005 7:40:04 PM

Like the color Kim. It looks pretty natural on you. Or at least it matches your eyebrows (unless you colored them too). What's your real hair color? I try to tell everyone that I'm a natural red head but with the shade I keep in no one believes me. I don't have the means or the motivation to upload a real pic so just use your imagination.

Sorry I couldn’t help much with option (a) Maise since my own dirty laundry pile was threatening to topple and bury me with stinky socks. But now I can at least see the laundry room floor and that’s a major fucking accomplishment! I wonder if Trent does his own laundry or if he’s more of a fluff and fold kind of guy? If you’re doing your own Trent just remember Confucius said “he who washes reds with whites ends up with pink underpants”. :P

Posted by: Iris | Dec 28, 2005 9:14:40 PM

There is no way Trent does his own laundry, or wears pink underpants.

This is a fucking good book, though.

Posted by: Jane | Dec 28, 2005 10:02:15 PM

I dunno...maybe he's VERY exacting with what gets washed with what, to the point where he just *has* to do it himself.

Either that, or the position of Trent's Laundry Person has a high turnover rate...

Posted by: maise | Dec 28, 2005 10:33:37 PM

I wonder if Trent spanks the laundry person when they fuck up? I mean, how do you wash those PVC pants?

Posted by: Jane | Dec 28, 2005 10:40:31 PM

Well, if spanking is an essential job task, I'd be happy to apply.

I don't have the slightest idea what one does with PVC pants...they don't seem particularly machine-washable. Maybe Trent's got a little car wash in his house. You know, like a Trent-wash.

Take it from there, ladies. I have to reorganize my freaking kitchen. :(

Here's my original color, Iris:
lalala.

The blonde at the tips piled on top of my head is from a highlight job gone awry... they were supposed to be a red color, but turned out blonde, hah. I still liked it, though, and two years later it gave me cool blonde tips that looked natural because they blended in. You could only tell I had blonde on the tips when I pulled my hair into a ponytail haha.

Posted by: Kim | Dec 29, 2005 7:14:10 AM

I played the highlighting game once--and only once. Well, maybe twice. I let a friend of a friend who was a hairdresser talk me into it. Everyone loved it except for me...I wasn't really into the way it looked, and I hated that I was going to have to keep getting them ad infinitum so that they would continue to blend and I hated that it was going to double the price and time duration of what would be a normal haircut. So I said screw it, and I've been growing them out ever since. Fortunately, they blend pretty well with my real hair, but a trained eye can spot where they begin.

When I start going gray, that will be a different story, but for now, I'm happy with my natural haircolor, which has natural red highlights, and I'm the *only* surviving member of my family with this hair color, so I don't like to fuck it up.
