[God_Thinks_I_Am_Awesome]
God Thinks I Fucking Rule.
Yeah, you're probably wondering, "What this time, Gabriel? We all obviously know that you rule the fucking planet -- our weak-ass attempts at comebacks as you constantly school us on topics as free-ranging as Nazi Germany and Flying Dogs makes that clear -- but why this newfound realization? What's happened?
Today I got a phone call about a ticket on-sale. And I tracked me down a pre-sale password. And I got me some tickets.
That's right, motherfuckers. Come this October 29th, Gabriel's going to be seeing Bauhaus.
Yeah, I know you're jealous. You're probably trying to figure out how this could have happened; if you even know who the fuck Bauhaus is, and you're not going, you're probably pulling your sobbing wet orbs of eyes out of your skull sockets right now, just so you won't have to watch other, more stoked people go to see the BEST BAND EVER in two months.
If you don't know who they are, you need to go buy yourself a fucking clue. If you are going to one of the new Bauhaus shows, then a big old Christly high-five to you, my brother (or sister). Guess what? God loves you too.
I didn't know the chance to see Peter Murphy and Daniel Ash awaited me this morning when I woke up and prayed. But guess what? That's what happens when you believe in God. The Big Man, he strokes his furry beard and goes, "Hey, you know what? La Jolla blows. And Gabriel's a fucking cool kid. I dig that wacky motherfucker. And he wasn't that far off with the Hitler thing. That guy deserves some cool concert tickets."
And this is the way it happens.
So don't be sad, kids, if you're not going. It's never too late to repent, to ask forgiveness, to be reborn and begin your life again. I think you'll find being a Christian like me is pretty much the fucking coolest thing you can imagine.
Cause Jesus saves... but God gets you concert tickets.

You're awfully cocky there Gabe.
Saying God got you Bauhaus tickets.
I got my Boston and Wilkes-Barre NIN tickets last night. God must find me to be really spiffy too.
Posted by: Nicole | Sep 8, 2005 5:48:58 PM
Either that, or God hates Bauhaus.
Posted by: maise | Sep 8, 2005 5:49:33 PM
I'm not being cocky, Nicole. I'm just not going to waste my time denying God's tremendous powers, and obvious love for me as one of his children.
And c'mon maise -- everybody knows God loves bauhaus. How do you think those guys are even still alive? Yoga?
Posted by: Gabriel | Sep 8, 2005 8:28:06 PM
Oh, it's only a matter of time before you turn on them too, you rabid little squirrel, you.
Posted by: maise | Sep 8, 2005 9:23:33 PM
Bauhaus is awesome, Gabriel (you whore), and I won't argue that you've called them the "best band ever" because Nine Inch Nails isn't really a band.
I will say that you are pretty fucking rude to stop at Daniel Ash and Peter Murphy, though. What about David J and Kevin Haskins? Jesus won't love you for long if you don't start loving ALL the Bauhausers.
Also, I think those guys are still alive because of yoga, actually.

Gab. God doesn't fucking care about shit like people getting concert tickets...or if sports teams win their game (those assholes look so stupid praying before their games.).
God could give a RATS ASS...if he's/she's/it's watching over us at all (which especially lately, I question), he's/she/it has more important things to do!
Nicole, you're going to Wilkes-Barre??? Me too. Reserved or GA? I'm old..so I'm in reserved....we should meet up.

Bex, how do you know? I bet God does too care sometimes, if you get tickets or not. I think it was totally my destiny to see Trent in 1994. If I hadn't, I would be a different person today, and I personally believe that God made sure I was there to be totally run through by Trent's mojo.
I bet God has more interests that you can possibly imagine! Who knows! This Bauhaus concert might be a transformational and totally vital experience for Gabriel!

I guess I'm just in the mode of thought he/she/it isn't paying us much attention. I could very well be wrong.
:)
I'm all for anything that would be a trasformational & vital experience for Gab! I think we'd all agree on that!

That way I see it, Bex, you don't know God... you've never met him... and in fact, you seem to be someone in a crises of faith. So the last thing you should be doing is opening your mouth and slamming somebody like myself that is excited about what being a Christian has brought to him.
I mean seriously Bex -- if there's anybody that needs some Bauhaus tickets, it's you my dear. Yay God!!!
Posted by: Gabriel | Sep 9, 2005 7:09:50 AM
NOT slamming you for your faith...slamming the idea that with the world in shambles, that he/she/it is paying attention to tiny details.
D. thinks I am wrong. Maybe. I hope so.
And to correct you, I have seen "God" before. And I was NOT on any substance when it happened.
hugs,

Gabriel,
You've got a hint of Tom Cruise about you these days...
"You don't know God. I do!"
"Bex, Bex, Bex, you don't even-- you're glib. You don't even know what Bauhaus is...if you start talking about Trent Reznor, you have to evaluate and read the research papers on how they came up with these Hitler theories, Bex, okay. That's what I've done."
Posted by: maise | Sep 9, 2005 7:40:41 AM
OMG, PLEASE, Maise. PLEASE don't bring Tom Cruise into this. I AM BEGGING EVERYONE TO LET TOM CRUISE DIE. Please. Pretty Please.
Gabriel, PLEASE?
Posted by: Dierdre | Sep 9, 2005 8:16:43 AM
Hey, I'm just making an observation...I don't condone the craziness, I just report it.
I kind of miss Tom Cruise. During times of national tragedy, it is the role of celebrities to provide us with comic relief. Tom Cruise, as nutty and annoying as he is, is a terrific example of harmless and fun comic relief. Everyone can feel good making fun of him.

People like Tom Cruise scare me.
:(

As well he should, Bex. As well he should. I don't make the comparison lightly...well, okay I am...but dammit, the similarity is clear!
Posted by: maise | Sep 9, 2005 11:10:01 AM
If you people don't quit with the Tom Cruise, I'm going to snap.
Seriously.
Posted by: Dierdre | Sep 9, 2005 1:38:52 PM
Oh, fine.
Is Tom Jones acceptable? "What's new pussycat, WHOA-A-WHOA-A-WHOA-O..."
Not really where I'd go with that, though.
Posted by: maise | Sep 9, 2005 2:58:25 PM
Whoops...last line is supposed to be "Don't really know where I'd go with that, though."
Must have been distracted by thoughts of Tom Jones and his cover of "Kiss"
All right, I'm starting my weekend in earnest, so you kids have fun.
Posted by: maise | Sep 9, 2005 3:47:02 PM
Tom Jones, that's too damn funny.
Lots of love to everyone here.
Have a lovely weekend.

I wouldn't throw my drawers to Tom Jones. Maybe a bra, but not my panties. I don't wanna know what he does with them.
The only thing that makes this a good day is the fact that Trent will be on MTV tonight! Finally, a new media piece for me to drool over..

Dierdre, see THESE yet?
Posted by: | Sep 10, 2005 3:39:52 PM
Pht, and that was moi, by the way.
Posted by: Kim | Sep 10, 2005 3:40:43 PM
Kim, I did see them. Thems are lovely. Oh, Trent. How I simply fucking ADORE HIM.
Posted by: Dierdre | Sep 10, 2005 4:21:56 PM
Trent is looking hot as ever.
I just saw 'the Machinist'....did anyone else wonder about the name 'Trevor Reznik'?
Posted by: Jessica | Sep 10, 2005 4:46:15 PM
oh good lord kim....that is so nice....thank you!
